1. How to request deletion
You can request deletion of your MealMetra account and associated personal data at any time. If account deletion is available inside the app, open Settings → Account → Delete account and follow the confirmation steps.
If that option is not available, email privacy@example.com from the email address linked to your account with the subject “MealMetra data deletion request”. We may ask for limited information to verify that you are authorised to make the request.
2. What we aim to delete
After a verified deletion request, we will take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify personal information associated with your account from active systems. This may include account profile data, stored meal photographs, meal history, generated meal records, saved preferences and other user-provided content associated with the account.
3. Information that may be retained
Some limited information may be retained where reasonably necessary for legal compliance, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, enforcement of agreements, financial record keeping, or to maintain evidence that a deletion request was completed. Information in encrypted backups may remain until those backups rotate or expire under our normal backup schedule.
Where possible, retained information will be minimised, isolated from normal product use and deleted when the reason for retaining it no longer applies.
4. Deletion timeframe
We aim to complete verified deletion requests within 30 days. In some circumstances, applicable law may allow or require additional time. If we need longer, we will provide an update where required.
5. Third-party processors
Where relevant, we will instruct service providers processing personal information on our behalf to delete or return the information in accordance with our contractual arrangements and applicable law. Some providers may retain limited logs or backups for defined periods.
6. Deleting the app is not the same as deleting your account
Removing MealMetra from your device does not necessarily delete information stored in your account or our systems. Use the account deletion process above if you want your account data removed.
